Project R.I.D.E.’s Hard-Working Horses

Moody Moonie

“Moonie” is a cream dun Norwegian Fjord mare. She came to Project RIDE in 2005, she is a riding horse and can also pull a cart. Children are attracted to her unique appearance and sidewalkers appreciate her short stature.
“Princess” is a gray Arabian mare. She has been with Project RIDE since 2008. She is as docile and sweet as they come! And with a name like “princess”, loves to be pampered.
baja “Baja” is a gray Arabian mare. She came to Project RIDE in October of 2009, before coming here she was a beginner lesson horse at the UC Davis Equestrian Center. She also used to trail ride and did competition showing where she did very well. Baja now loves to work with the children and is always ready to go!

Princely Pepper

“Pepper” is a black Tennessee Walking Horse. He came to Project RIDE in December of 2009, he was used to pleasure and trail riding before. He is gentle and loves attention.

Beautiful Benny

“Benny” is a dark bay Quarter Horse. He came to Project RIDE in January 2010, he is a western pleasure trail horse, and loves to work. He is a happy healthy guy who loves pets and craves all the attention in the barn!
Bubba’s photo coming soon “Bubba” is a black Morgan Quarter Cross. He came to Project RIDE in March of 2010. He is a lesson/camp horse, Trail horse and everything in between! He is a hard worker and gives our riders a very athletic ride! He may be old…but don’t tell him that!
“Fox” is a chestnut Quarter horse. He came to Project RIDE in February 2010. He is a retired Champion Reining horse, due to an injury to his front legs. He is completely healed and is retrained as one of our therapy horses. He is settling into his new job with flying colors. His mini quarter size is ideal for an over the thigh hold!!

Marvelous Maggie Mae

“Maggie” came to Project RIDE in April of 2010. She is a calm horse and loves attention. She was used as a western pleasure and trail horse. Her favorite place to ride is on the beach!

Other Very Important Animals

jessie-and-baker “Jessie” and “Baker”, our barn cats, keep the arena pest-free while also serving as therapy cats for any student, volunteer or staff member who needs a warm, furry snuggle.They have, of course, grown a bit since that picture was taken!
It’s a hard life being Baker, but somebody’s got to do it!

Scooter our new pet goat “Sassy”, “Lucky” and “Scooter” are our pet goats at the ranch.

Mabel Jean is our ranch cat. She’s sweet and friendly and tough as nails!
