For Our Students
Summer Session Now Scheduling!
We are currently accepting new and continuing students for summer sessions. Please contact us immediately if you know a student age 3 or older with disabilities who would enjoy the benefits of our program. Hurry – space is limited!
Fees
Lesson fees are $20 per half-hour lesson and payment for your full session is requested in advance. Sessions can run from 4 weeks to 12 weeks in length. Check with your instructor if you are unsure how many weeks your session is. We accept personal checks made out to Project R.I.D.E. Inc. or cash payment in our office between 8:00 and 3:00 Monday-Friday or at your regularly scheduled lesson time. If you are a new student with us, before your first ride we will schedule a brief assessment and there is a one-time $10 charge for that assessment.

Scholarships
Project R.I.D.E. is fortunate to have a very active Board of Directors who raise funds for our “Jockey Club” so that families who would like to participate but cannot due to financial difficulties may gain access to the benefits of our program. If you need financial help to be able to afford our lessons, please inform our staff.

Who is Eligible?
Project R.I.D.E. currently serves over 370 students with disabilities from Elk Grove, Sacramento, and even as far away as Stockton and the Delta. Our youngest students are 3 and our oldest are in their 60s. All of our students have a medically diagnosed physical or intellectual special need or disability.
Below is a partial list of the disabilities our current students possess; if you don’t see your disability on this list, please call us to find out if you are eligible. Please note that at this time we are limited to mounted riders who weigh 185 pounds or less due to the physical limitations of our horses. However, the Equicizer has no such weight limit and is also appropriate for students who are fearful of horses but wish to gain the physical benefits of riding. Please contact us with any questions.
